[NaPoWriMo Poetry-1] “Aita (Grandma)”

When I was born,

she was there with me.

When she died,

I wasn’t.

When I spoke the first time,

she was there with me.

When she spoke the last time,

I wasn’t.

When I found the strength to walk,

she was there with me.

When she lost her strength to walk,

I wasn’t.

When I had smile on my face,

she was there with me.

When she had tears in her eyes,

I wasn’t.

But only if  I could

triumph over time.

Aita, I am sorry

I regret.

About National Poetry Writing Month : #NaPoWriMo is a creative writing project held annually in April in which participants attempt to write a poem each day for one month. This year in 2019 I attempt to complete this challenge of 30 poems in the month of April. Please keep reading and supporting. Wish me luck !
