[Poetry] “Ambition”

I am chasing a butterfly,
It’s so beautiful,I wish
to make it mine;
grab it, before it flies.
But I fail everytime.
It’s too quick for my wits,
hard to pick its path.
Yet I have to keep trying;
chase it through the orchards,
chase it through the vineyards,
chase it through the rosy gardens.
If I succeed, I would own
a piece of my ambition;
If I fail, I would still look back
and relish the images
of those scenic wonderlands.
Those stones I stumbled upon,
those muddy ditches I leaped over.
Untill then, I will
keep chasing this butterfly.
